It is the last Friday of 2017, which, thank goodness 2017 is OVER! And just like that the holidays are over. Hoping each and every one you had an amazing holiday season with your family. And, regardless if you celebrate or not, I hope you had a relaxing day off! 2017 was definitely a rebuilding year for me. I was taking classes, transitioning to a new job in a new city, and learning about this crazy blogging life while balancing my social life.

Superfood Gingerbread Loaf

How is it December, the END of December, and I have baked ZERO things?

Oh sure, I can use my graduate apps and my and just all around adulating to blame for my lack of time cozied up to my oven, but that would just be excuses. If y’all did not know, I used to be a baking FIEND. In high school, I pretty much baked every weekend. Some standout were Smitten Kitchen’s gingersnaps and a clearly not gluten-free/paleo/vegan banana bread recipe from the back of a Land o’ Lakes box. And regard of what healthified recipe I would give to my parents or siblings, they would still just want the banana bread from “the back of the box.”

At least they were easy to please!

Power Lunch Bowls with Green Goddess Dressing

It’s safe to say that I freaking LOVE lunch!

Most people say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but I personally get most excited about lunch. People who say “I was too busy, I forgot to eat lunch”… I don’t get you. I am always waiting for my clock to tick down to 1:30 PM, for me to bust out my prepacked Tupperware, and shout, “YES! LUNCH TIME!” But maybe I’m the only weirdo who eats breakfast and then immediately starts counting down the hours ’til lunch?

Holiday Gift Guide 2017

 

Happy holiday season my babes!

I love the holidays! I will be the first to tell you I am not the most religious person out there. BUT I will say that the spirit totally gets to me. This time of year is so freaking cold and dark (literally) that the best thing to bring light and love into your life is by spending time with your family. And drinking a ton of hot chocolate. But I swear the family ranks #1!  I love how family can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Personally, I have my mom, dad, and siblings that I love (most of the time ha!), but I also have a chosen family consisting of a lot of my close friends from college. Just make sure to take some time for yourself, sip on some hot cocoa, and give everyone you love a big HUG. Also, spend sometime in an igloo because they just built one in DC and I am PUMPED!
